From an AI prediction
to a reasoned decision.
Beyond model sophistication: what has been tested, and how much should we trust it?
A prediction is not a decision
A model producing a number does not automatically produce an actionable strategy. First define the prediction target, what information was available at the time, and the real costs and constraints affecting a decision.
Unseen periods matter
It is easy to fit a model to familiar data. Preserve time order in evaluation, check that future information has not leaked into the past, and compare against a simple baseline. Document the limitations when market conditions change.
Leave an auditable process
Record data sources, availability dates, model changes and the reasoning behind decisions. AI cannot remove uncertainty. Its value lies in helping us test assumptions systematically and improve the way we make judgments.
Connected insight. Better decisions.
